The Colour Palette We Keep Coming Back To

Earth tones that outlast every trend cycle.

Oat. Sage. Dusty rose. Charcoal. Ivory. These aren't trend colours — they're earth colours. They've been beautiful for centuries and they'll be beautiful for centuries more. We design in shades that don't expire.

Why do slow fashion brands use neutral and earth tone colours?

Trend colours have a built-in expiration date. The neon green of this season becomes the embarrassment of next. Earth tones exist outside that cycle. They're drawn from the natural world — soil, stone, dried herbs, winter sky — and they've been worn by humans for as long as humans have worn anything. Designing in earth tones means our garments from three years ago still feel current today. They'll feel current in three years, too.

What colours go with everything in a capsule wardrobe?

Our palette is designed so every piece pairs with every other piece. Oat works with sage. Dusty rose works with charcoal. Ivory works with everything. This isn't accidental — it's the foundation of a functional wardrobe. When every colour works together, you need fewer pieces to create more combinations. That's the capsule wardrobe principle in practice, not theory.

Do you ever introduce new colours?

Occasionally, when we find a shade that meets our criteria: beautiful in natural light, beautiful in artificial light, pairs with the existing palette, and will still feel right in five years. We've added one new colour per year on average. We've also retired colours that didn't earn their place. The palette is curated, not accumulated.

Colour should serve your wardrobe, not complicate it. Five considered shades give you more than fifty random ones.
