Our Story

Our Story

Made by hand.
On purpose.

Thirty-seven years of the same love. One woman, one studio, one decision to never let a machine decide what your clothes feel like.

“We never learned to make things fast.
That was never the point.”

The Beginning

Before it had
a name.

There was no moment of inspiration. No brand story. Just hands that knew what to do with fabric before the mind had words for it.

The 80s. You made what you wore. If you were good, the neighbours noticed. Then their neighbours. Then strangers with requests, measurements on paper, specific shades of linen.

Decades passed. The world found shortcuts. We were not interested.

The Name

Souls In Clothes
came first.

2020. The world locked its doors. We opened ours.

The name arrived before anything else — before the logo, the shop, the first listing. Souls in Clothes. Because a garment made by someone’s hands carries something a machine never can. It carries the person who made it.

What started as a long-overdue decision became something we didn’t expect — people from countries we’d never visited wearing clothes we’d sewn by hand, thousands of miles away.

The Making

Nothing here
was rushed.

Your piece doesn’t exist yet. It won’t until you ask for it.

We draft the pattern by hand, cut the fabric, sew it from the first stitch to the last. No factory. No warehouse. No stock sitting under fluorescent lights waiting to be picked. Just hands, fabric, and the kind of attention that takes time.

The linen is European — not chosen for how it photographs, but for what it becomes after years of wearing. It softens. It deepens. It remembers your shape.

The People

Three people.
No one else.

A maker. A designer. And one person whose only job is making sure your order feels like it was the only one that mattered that day.

When you message us, a person reads it. When you ask a question about sizing, someone pulls up your order and checks. There’s a card tucked inside every parcel — not printed, written.

We could grow. We could hire. We choose not to. Because the moment we can’t touch every piece that leaves this studio, it stops being what it is.
