European linen, handmade slowly

Every piece at Souls In Clothes is cut from long-fibre European linen — grown, spun, and woven in the EU, then stonewashed at the studio until the cloth forgets it was ever crisp. This collection is the shortcut to all of it.

Why linen, and why this linen

Linen breathes in heat, holds warmth in cool, takes dye softly, and improves with wear in a way almost no other fibre does. I use it because it tells the truth — if a garment is cut well it will stay beautiful; if it isn't, linen will show you. The European flax I buy has a long staple, which means less pilling, a smoother drape, and a hand that gets better for years.

Poetcore in practice

Poetcore is a useful word for a style that linen has always carried: romantic, unfussy, hand-felt. I was making these shapes before the word existed, and I'll be making them after.
