A floor-length linen maxi skirt in mint, built around a wide structured waistband that holds the silhouette in a clean vertical line from waist to hem. Nothing interrupts that line — no seams, no panels, no fuss. Made to order at the atelier in Bulgaria, it fits every size from XS to 4XL, with custom sizing at no extra cost. Free worldwide shipping is included. This is the skirt for slow summer days that still require you to look considered.
The piece
Larah made the first version of this skirt because she wanted something that felt supportive without being architectural — fabric that carries you rather than constrains you. The wide structured waistband was the single decision everything else followed from. Once the waist had that quiet weight to it, the rest of the skirt could be completely simple: one long fall of linen, floor-length, uninterrupted. The natural linen maxi skirt wide waistband proportion is the whole point. It gives you a centre to move from. The mint colour came later, chosen because it reads as almost-neutral in outdoor light and stays cool to look at in the heat of the season.
Material
The fabric is 100% linen in a mint tone that sits closer to sage than blue. It has the slight texture characteristic of natural linen — not stiff, but with enough body to hold the silhouette without lining. The finished garment weighs approximately 500 g, which gives the skirt a satisfying drape without pulling at the waistband. After a few washes the hand softens further, and the colour settles into a slightly more muted version of itself.
Fit & sizing
Larah is 175 cm and wears size S in the photos. Between sizes? Send your measurements in the order notes — we'll cut to fit at no extra cost. The wide structured waistband sits at the natural waist and is designed to lie flat without gaping or rolling. The skirt falls straight from there, so hip room is generous across all sizes.
Styling
Wear it with a simple linen camisole tucked in at the front, or layer with the asymmetric women's shirt left open. The wide linen pants share the same fabric weight if you want to build a full linen set across two pieces. Best occasions: a warm-weather wedding where the dress code is soft and you want to move freely, long-haul flights where you need a waistband that doesn't cut in, and slow market mornings where the outfit should do most of the work. If you want the same fabric in a separates set, the olive linen harem trousers build a head-to-toe linen look. For occasion dressing, the linen pinafore dress is the dress-form alternative when you want the same drape without the waist division.
Care
Machine wash cold at 30°C on a gentle cycle. Hang to dry rather than tumble — linen relaxes back into shape on the hanger. Iron on medium heat while the fabric is still slightly damp; this is when linen presses most easily and the waistband regains its structure. Do not bleach. The mint tone is stable but repeated hot washing will shift it over time.
Frequently asked questions
How long does a made-to-order piece take to ship?
Every skirt is cut and sewn after you place your order. Production takes approximately 5–10 business days, after which your order ships from Bulgaria. Shipping times vary by destination, but most orders arrive within 7–14 days of dispatch. You'll receive a tracking number by email once it's on its way.
Can I order in a custom size or with specific measurements?
Yes, and there's no extra charge for it. Add your measurements — waist, hips, and preferred length — in the order notes at checkout. Larah will cut the pattern to those numbers. If you're unsure what to measure, send a message before ordering and she'll guide you.
What is your returns policy for made-to-order items?
Because each piece is made specifically for you, we cannot accept returns based on size, colour, or fabric preference. If something arrives damaged or with a construction fault, contact us within 7 days and we'll resolve it. When in doubt about fit or colour, message us before you order — we'd rather answer ten questions than have you receive something that doesn't work.
Is the mint colour available in other fabric tones?
The atelier works with a range of linen tones each season. Message Souls In Clothes through the shop before ordering if you'd like to know what's currently available — the colour offer changes and some tones are limited to current stock.
Will the linen shrink after washing?
Linen can shrink slightly on first wash, particularly in length. The atelier accounts for this during cutting, but washing at 30°C on a gentle cycle and hanging to dry (rather than tumble drying) keeps any further movement minimal. If you're ordering a custom length, it's worth mentioning in your notes that you'd like a little extra allowance.
